MRE Meeting: Guest Speaker Steve Valigosky , Vice President of Client Development at MetrixLab

Steve Valigosky will share how MetrixLab uses AI to teach computers to code for human sentiment.  Whether it is open ends in surveys or social media posts, words have meaning that computers are not "trained" to understand. MetrixLab has developed a tool that is based on how human coders capture sentiment in social media posts and then uses AI to teach computers to understand human nuance and sentiment. 

Steve will tell us about their Social Media Insights Tool, how it works and how AI is incorporated into the coding process, resulting in faster and more accurate coding of human sentiment. He will provide case studies from clients to demonstrate deliverables and how they are used in making business decisions. 

Steve joined MetrixLab in September, 2014 as Vice President, Client Development, and has over 30 years of experience in the market research industry.  He has worked primarily on consumer industry accounts during his career, building new client relationships for leading research firms for the past 15-20 years.  Most recently, Steve was in new business development at GfK Custom Research, where he worked with large consumer goods, consumer health care, restaurant, and petroleum industry clients.  

Steve has a wide range of experience in other industries, including CPG, automotive, financial services, restaurant/retail and has conducted numerous studies, both online and offline, in the US market and globally.

Steve makes his home in Toledo, OH, where he has lived his entire life, with his wife, and has two sons, who live in Cleveland, OH and Des Moines, IA.  He enjoys travel, both in the US and internationally, and enjoys biking, hiking and gardening in his spare time.
